MEPIS Linux is a Debian-based system for the desktop or as a dedicated server. It is designed for both personal and business purposes. The first official release was version 2003.0, dated May 10, 2003. SimplyMEPIS 3.4-3 was released February 9, 2006. SimplyMEPIS uses its own binary packages, compliled from Debian and Ubuntu sources. SimplyMEPIS 8.5 was released March 30, 2010. SimplyMEPIS 11.0 was released May 5, 2011. SimplyMEPIS 11.0.12 was released February 3, 2012. MEPIS 12 beta was released May 11, 2013.
